After two years on the U.K indie live circuit supporting the likes of Carter USM,House of Love,The Manic Street Preachers, Daisy Chainsaw and Swervedriver and an appearance on Japanese T.V with James & Blur, SIMON BEACON re-located to Brisbane & during 1994/1995 put together the studio project - GLITCH. An EP entitled 1000% was released in November 1995 to critical acclaim with the subsequent launch fusing experimental audio and visual elements. Overseas radio play (UK & US) & impressive live performances further cemented the appeal of GLITCH and compilation releases & live shows for Transmission Communications (Cyberia/ Abstraction) quickly followed. In 1997 MEGAPHONIK was born out of the ashes of GLITCH with an album of material compiled for future release. After a brief live foray as AnZu in late 1998 with Julie Kavanagh (ex Blood Party) MEGAPHONIK are back in the studio putting the finishing touches on this debut album. |
ANDY BAGLEY has had an unhealthy obsession with sound synthesis since an early age. What started as a "cute" childhood facsination with the Dr Who theme track and "Popcorn" developed into a full scale mania into his adult years. This has manifested itself in a frightening arsenal of electronic equipment. Foolhardy adventurers have capitalised on the talents of a man who wrote the music for former industrial Brisband, PURE BUNK, for post-production work and remixes for numerous national and international artists. For something really scary - try doing a net search on ANDY BAGLEY. |
ALIEONIX represents the evolution of an artist who first found inspiration through the works of that pioneer of electronic music - Gary Numan. With The Force commanding him to purchase a synthesizer at an early age, DUNCAN FAIRBROTHER set about deconstructing what he heard into sounds and textures later to find a home in SPHERE; an original of the species that existed through the Nineties and released a number of brilliant neo-synthpop / dark wave tracks and techno remixes through TransCom. In 2001 we find Duncan capitalising on his exposure to the best of British trance & electronica in the development of ALIEONIX. His appearance at 101 will signal an important re-emergence for the Brisbane scene, and will incorporate a guest vocal appearance from MANTA RAY of ZEPHYR TIMBRE fame. The dance-orientated sound of ALIEONIX will stretch across trance and breakbeat with strong Bristol-bass tendencies. |
